Sheeit...

The offer was almost twice as good as we expected. And even more than what we jokingly said we would need before considering relocating. Its like when someone calls your bluff. We have a lot of big decisions to make in the next week...

I worked in Phoenix for 6 months. It's urban sprawl at it's best. Big freeways, relatively little traffic, and HOT. Summers are sort of crap since it's 120, but at least you get flash flooding in the August monsoon season (which is actually sort of nice). Riding there is limited to a handful of teams, and the only race I did was a weekly parking lot crit series down by Tempe. Plan to buy a nice car with AC since you spend a lot of time in it getting to the good places. Riding to rides from residential areas doesn't work like Seattle or Portland since all the good places to live are not where the good riding is.

I heard they re-paved South Mountain which is really nice - a great climb and even better descent.

My wife also had offer from Intel Chandler a few years. If you post your email address I'll send you comments.

I played for the Phoenix Suns during the Barkley era, got in a lot of fights with KJ (kevin Johnson). AZ has a lot of sluts I hear, at least at ASU, well, at least my ex-girlfriend is a slut and she went there. Hope you like Tex-mex!!! C Ya biotch!!

Think about it this way - Intel's a meat grinder. You work there for 3 years, make a lot of cash, and return to Seattle where there's got to be jobs for people with intel experience. Or you work in Phoenix for a year, then place a transfer for the first job that opens in Portland... or Ireland... or Bangalore. Either way, you're missed in Seattle.

Think of it as an adventure. An adventure where you dont need sweaters, or coats, or gloves, or beanies.
